Cass County- “Still More to Explore”

There is always more to explore in Cass County which is the northern county of Region 5 and the largest county. There is fun to be had all year in Cass County. The end of June enjoy the Cass County Fair in Pine River. It's a free fair with feature events: moto-cross, ATV and pick-up mud runs. Fishing is an all year activity in Cass County with 896 lakes. Four major lakes are Leech Lake, Gull Lake, “Big Winnie (Lake Winnibigoshish) and Cass Lake all with a variety of fish! Deer and duck hunting in the fall is fun in our acres of forests.
The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe has a large reservation (Leech Lake Reservation) in Cass County and encompasses three lakes and the National Chippewa Forest. The reservation includes eleven communities and is split among four counties. They also operate Palace Casino, White Oak Casino, and Northern Oaks Casino. The Leech Lake Band has community events all year, from tumbling classes to youth baseball to panel discussions. There is also wild rice harvesting which takes place on the reservation. The rice is hand harvested by tribal members and is 100 percent natural and organic.
From casinos to beautiful lakes and forests to abundant farmland, Cass County has it all.
