Bigfoot, Eagles and More-Remer

Monday, August 28, 2017

What do bald eagles and Bigfoot have in common? Both can possibly be spotted in the small town of Remer. Remer has that small town feel and is located in Cass County. Sasquatch or Bigfoot was famously captured on film in 2009 in the Chippewa National Forest near Remer. The forest is 650,000 acres and also includes the largest population of nesting bald eagles in the contiguous 48 states. Remer can be found smack in the middle of hundreds of lakes, streams, and forest. Watching eagles in this natural habitat is breathtaking. There are plenty of lodging and resort options scattered around the Remer area.

Remer has a rich history dating back over 100 years. The local depot was saved from being demolished and serves as the Remer Centennial Library.  Don't miss Bigfoot Days held in July each year. The two day event includes live Bigfoot storytelling, beer garden, ATV ride for cancer, ATV parade, live music, bounce houses, BBQ contest, and kid and adult Bigfoot calling contest. This is a weekend that can't be missed!

If eagles and Bigfoot aren't enough reason to visit Remer at least come for the lakes and resorts!
