Morrison County is one of the largest counties in Minnesota and is in the southern part of Region 5. Morrison County’s economy is based on agriculture with significant contributions from the manufacturing and retail income industries. The county has an abundance of available land ready for developing. Land and buildings are available in Little Falls, Pierz, and Swanville.

The schools in Morrison County, 5 total, are all excellent places to learn. St. Gabriel’s Hospital is a major medical facility in the county and there are also three nursing homes. Camp Ripley is a military training facility which encompasses 54,000 acres and is used year round by the National Guard, Reserve units and active military units. The winter training facilities at Camp Ripley are considered among the best in the nation. They also have an extensive wildlife education program.

When it comes to outdoor activities Morrison County has twenty parks. Hike, snowmobile or cross country ski throughout Morrison County. Lake Alexander Preserve is in the middle of 180,000 acres of mixed oak, wetlands, ponds and white and red pines. It is an important habitat for songbirds. In September, enjoy shopping at one of the largest art and craft fairs in the Upper Midwest held in Little Falls.

If all this isn’t enough of a reason to visit, Morrison County, specifically Little Falls, is known as the home of Charles Lindbergh. In 1927, Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris, this was the first solo transatlantic flight and the first non-stop flight from North America to Europe. An exciting museum dedicated to Charles Lindbergh is open for visits in Little Falls, along with the Minnesota Fishing Museum for all the museum lovers.

From a booming economy, to a military base to abundant lakes and streams and outdoor activities galore, Morrison County is the place to travel or settle.
