Biking, watching racing, swimming, skiing, amusement park visits, shopping, golf, boating, the list of activities to do in Brainerd just goes on and on. Brainerd is one of the largest cities in Central Minnesota and in the summer, this population explodes with all the seasonal guests. Brainerd is sheer beauty everywhere you look. Brainerd has a newly revitalized downtown with plenty of unique shops. For resort lovers, and especially golf fans, Cragun’s Resort, Kavanaugh’s Sylvan Lake Resorts and Madden’s Resort are all nearby.There’s even a number of mini golf courses, for the less serious or younger golfers. The 100 mile Paul Bunyan Bike Trail begins in Brainerd and winds its way through beautiful areas in northern Minnesota. The Northland Arboretum occupies 500 acres in the Brainerd and Baxter area and is open for visitors to tour flower beds, demonstration areas and beautiful green space. Hiking and cross country skiing is available at the arboretum. Brainerd International Raceway is also a popular destination, with different race and concert activities every summer weekend. East of Brainerd sits Paul Bunyan Land, an amusement park where Paul welcomes everyone by name and has for over 50 years. Safari North Wildlife Park is another great stop for the kids and kids at heart. Safari North has animals from all over the world and has even recently added a giraffe to the list of animals! Brainerd has a variety of restaurants: bars and grills, pizza places and fast food restaurants to please even the pickiest eater.
