Nisswa a True Vacation Destination

Monday, January 15, 2018

Nisswa may be a small town but in the summer it's where the fun is and the people are! In the Brainerd Lakes Area, Nisswa is known for its shopping, golf, resorts and water fun! There's so many beautiful courses it's hard to choose which one to play! Two activities that stand out are ziplining at Mount Ski Gull or playing a new sport “footgolf.” If water is where the fun is rent kayaks, canoes or paddleboards. The 100 mile Paul Bunyan Trail runs right through Nisswa: walk, bike or rollerblade this beautiful trail! Turtle and race are two words not usually in a sentence together but in Nisswa there are turtle races almost every Wednesday in the summer. Rent a turtle for $5 and get the fun started! Speaking of activities, Nisswa’s calendar is packed with activities all year. For the summer celebrate Nisswa’s Freedom Day celebration and parade celebrated around the Fourth of July every year. For fall fun there's the Oktoberfest Pub Crawl. Take a shuttle to area bars for a fun night in conjunction with live music under a heated tent for Grand View Lodge’s Golftoberfest. Around Thanksgiving, enjoy the City of Lights event where the town is officially lit up and there is a fireworks display and visit from Santa. There's lots of other activities to get ready for the holiday season.

So come visit Nisswa, play, stay and have fun! This vacation destination and homey small town will have you coming back for years to come.
