Cass Lake-Where Beauty Awaits

Monday, February 05, 2018

Cass Lake is known as the gateway to its namesake lake Cass Lake and the Chippewa National Forest. Fun times fishing, hunting and camping can be had in this beautiful city. As headquarters for the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe there is plenty of history in Cass Lake. Leech Lake Tribal College is located in Cass Lake and was established in 1990. There are about 60 faculty and 350 students studying a wide range of careers from Earth Systems Science to Law Enforcement to Liberal Arts. Most students are from the Leech Lake and Red Lake Reservations and about 5 percent of students are non-Indian.

Rib Fest happens every year in July. The event includes a rib cook-off, parade pow wow demonstration and a street dance.

There are activities to experience outdoor all year in Cass Lake. Beauty, fun and history all await!
